The Isle of Man is located almost exactly in the centre of the British Isle, approx. 70 miles off the Lancashire coast.
The island can be reached by sea or air.
By Sea
By Air
On Saturday 30th April, it is possible to do a day trip to The Island by air, from either Blackpool (Citywing) or Manchester (Flybe). The AGM arrangements have been timed to allow for travel to and from the Isle of Man Airport for anyone coming over on a day trip.
Travel Around The Island
All parts of The Island are served by Bus Vannin, the Manx Government owned and operated bus company, with a modern fleet of Mercedes busses. Daily, 3 day and weekly season tickets (GO Cards) are available from The Welcome Centre at The Sea Terminal.
Busses from the Airport to Douglas, and from Douglas to Peel, run on a 20 minute frequency.
IoM Transport information can be found here
Accommodation
There is a vast range of accommodation on The Island, ranging from three and four star luxury on Douglas Promenade, via remote cottages and farm houses, to cheap and cheerful bed and breakfasts.
We recommend that you make bookings for accommodation via the Manx Governments Tourist Information Service Accommodation Page.
Note. If you are staying in Douglas, and will be travelling around The Island by public transport, may we recommend that you book accommodation located in the IM1 or IM2 post code areas.
For further information on the AGM, travel and accommodation, or the branch in general, please contact the master or secretary (see below).
